Art and Entertainment in support of Ukraine’s children in need
This Saturday, August 31st, Scott Baxter, the well-connected founder of the architectural hardware firm SA Baxter and SBCYachting, is opening his 7,000 square foot, ultra-designed East Hampton house for an immersive charity event to support children in the Ukraine through the BlueCheck Foundation, which was co-founded by actor Liev Schreiber. Cocktails start around the pool at 4pm with dinner from 6-8:30pm. The evening is not just a great cause but also a rare chance to peruse Baxter’s amazing art collection which includes works by Andy Warhol, Auguste Rodin and Salvador Dalí, to name just a few. There will also be Ukrainian art on display from Tribeca’s Mriya Gallery with both a silent and live auction. Entertainment will be provided by Fima Chupakhin Jazz Band and DJ Anastasia Bondarenko (so get ready to dance).
“When I heard about this project, I jumped at the opportunity to help out by loaning my home and art collection,” Baxter tells Avenue. “Helping the most vulnerable victims of war – the children and using one of my personal passions – art, made this easy to get behind.”
The goal of the evening is to raise $100,000 to support vital initiatives for children in Ukraine.
