Lingua Franca, the hand embroidered clothing line that is a fave with countless celebs (think: Tim McGraw, Kerry Washington and Naomi Watts, to name just a few), staged their AW2025 runway show at the Bowery Hotel and the catwalk was a who’s who of New York’s culture club. Waris Ahluwalia, Molly Ringwald, Leigh Lezark, Jordan Roth, Jill Kargman, Gina Gershon, Brooke Williams, Jenna Lyons, Ann Dexter-Jones, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Ivy Getty, Dee Poku, Sophia Lamar, Arden Wohl and OG supermodel Pat Cleveland all strutted the runway.
Known for politically charged and irreverent slogans hand-stitched onto cashmere sweaters (Connie Britton wore a “poverty is sexist” jumper to the Golden Globes one year and Martha Stewart has a “let’s get lit” piece), Lingua Franca also showed the chicest collab with the Bowery Hotel which is owned by the label’s founder Rachelle Hruska MacPherson’s husband Sean. The brand’s name means: a language that is adopted as a common language between speakers whose native languages are different. And everyone at the show spoke in the common tongue of cool.
