Primoends is Helping Save Planet Earth One Yard at a Time

John Lomangino, President & CEO of PRIMOENDS LLC is on a mission

It all started with one question asked back in 2017 to a local drapery and upholstery workroom, “what do you do with the extra yards of fabric after the project has been completed”? The owner replied “they collect dust in the basement or get thrown out”.

In 1995, John Lomangino began his career in New York where he learned about B2B and B2C markets; selling outlet fabrics for Schumacher, Waverly, Greeff, and Decorators Walk. His father, Nicholas Sr. started in the carpet business in the 60s and his eldest brother Nick Jr. was in the industry as well in the mid 90s selling textiles. After many years of experience selling fabric, furniture, and carpet, he and his brother formed NicholasJohn Inc in 2003; a successful sales and consulting agency that represented high-end luxury brands such as Kravet, Lee Jofa, Brunschwig & Fils, Donghia, Ralph Lauren and Metaphores, to name a few.

With almost three decades of experience, John discovered an opportunity and a small niche to not only give back to the interior design community but to also help business owners sell off surplus home goods, in addition to protecting the planet from future home decor waste, he thought, “why discard beautiful products when a designer or a consumer can turn it into something special?”

John’s mission was set forth to inspire and empower the home furnishings industry to take action to reduce the waste of surplus home products. 

Primoends.com is the only online home furnishings outlet & marketplace portal dedicated to interior designers, decorators, workrooms and home decor companies. The portal and website designed in-house by John allows business owners to sell off extra rolls of Wallpaper, Decor Accessories, Rugs, Pillows, Lighting, Furniture and Fabrics to customers that are searching for great deals online.

Primoends gives the seller/vendor the opportunity to make money on surplus goods, thus allowing companies to focusing on their core products. The concept is simple, leave the clearance products to us and concentrate on what makes you successful!

Primoends.com is a virtual online store and does not hold inventory. Businesses that enroll into the program for free, stock and process the orders through the Primoends portal. Products are then listed and sold through the platform. The focus is mainly with entrepreneurs who want to open an online ecommerce store but do not have start up capital or the know how to code. Primoends currently has 400 + vendors enrolled and over 241k + products published. 

Most large retail home furnishings companies have an outlet store or a section on their website to sell off clearance products, but what about all those small businesses that can’t afford to do so or just don’t have the time to build an online outlet? Companies that are to the trade can now sell their outlet products directly to consumers on the Primoends platform.

The portal allows full access to upload products, images, videos, and details of the item. The system also allows businesses to go under an alias or hide the company name for privacy purposes. To simplify the uploading process, products can be loaded individually, by bulk CSV, or we can perform the task for the seller. 
Within a short time, Primoends’s popularity is growing and large home furnishing companies are now adding their outlet items to the portal for customers to purchase at a discounted rate. These items are typically discontinued or have high levels of inventory.

Primoends has now evolved into sub-brands; PrimoNew, Primo, and PrimoEnds. By segregating each division, companies now can adverstise new collections, active products and outlet items for additional brand exposure. Eventually, Primoends may adapt into other categories such as handbags, jewelry, and clothing, but for now the primary focus is home decor.
