Top Chefs Take Over the Culinary Scene at the Tennis Tournament
Forget hot dogs and stale popcorn: the 2024 US Open is a serious gourmet win-win this year with celebrity chefs blanketing the dining scene on the grounds of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Making his debut at the tournament is red-hot restauranteur Simon Kim’s COQODAQ (located on the club level of the Arthur Ashe Stadium) with signature dishes from the Korean-inspired “Better Fried Chicken” eatery including the famed “Golden Nugget” – perfectly fried morsels of chicken with caviar pairing. Score!
Also back at the US Open are Michelin-starred Ed Brown, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and James Beard Award-winning Chef Kwame Onwuachi. If that isn’t enough: this year’s tournament also features new dishes from Pat LaFrieda Meat Co., Champions by Benjamin’s Steakhouse, Red Hook Lobster Pound and Eataly to name a few.
The tastiest way to enjoy the matches (and fill your belly) is by purchasing tickets to Flavors of the Open, presented by DOBEL Tequila at the Louis Armstrong Stadium. Fans will get the chance to see the top-tier tennis action (and meet star athletes like Dominic Thiem, Gabriela Sabatini, Bianca Andreescu), sample premium dishes, enjoy food demonstrations and live music and hobnob with celebrity chefs. A portion of ticket proceeds supports the USTA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the United States Tennis Association providing academic programs to youth in under-resourced communities nationwide.
