“At its core, wellness is deeply personal, an intimate dialogue between body and mind.”

BY MAGGIE DAVIS
In a world obsessed with “wellness,” it’s easy to get lost in the noise of self-care trends and philosophies. At its core, wellness is deeply personal, an intimate dialogue between body and mind, yet we often lose sight of that individuality when told what we should or could be doing for our health.
Enter Paradisus by Meliá. Stripping wellness back to its bones, the resort brand presents their own philosophy where choice is the ultimate luxury. From Riviera Maya, Mexico to Nusa Dua, Bali, each resort blends restorative wellbeing with moments of simple indulgence – because true balance lies in both.
In Chelsea, at Paradisus’ immersive pop-up, the theme is “restore or indulge.” I collect an armful of tropical flowers and craft a bouquet while aromatherapy candles burn nearby. There are Adobo spice tastings alongside essential-oil treatments. My favorite: the “Sweet Tastes or Sweet Kisses” area with honey pairings and nourishing lip balms.
At Paradisus, wellness isn’t a trend, it’s a journey. One where every guest can stretch, breathe, bloom, and, most importantly, choose.

The four-course dinner, inspired by different Paradisus resorts by Chefs Leandro Díaz and Germán Ortega:
- Pork belly tacos from Mexico with avocado aioli and chorizo shavings.
- Spicy lobster soup from Bali.
- Goat stew from the Dominican Republic with yuca and plantains.
- Xoco & Gofio Cake from the Canary Islands -a banana-infused dessert topped with salted caramel ice cream.
