Just after a lingering South Florida sunset on a balmy Tuesday night of Miami Art Week, guests arrive to the verdant grandeur of the Miami Beach Botanical Garden for a celebration unlike any other. The playful patterns of Florentine fashion house Pucci blossom into a carnivalesque fun fair, complete with “Puccified” ball games, photo stand-in moments featuring Pucci outfits, gelato, cotton candy and pasta stations—and the additional touch of magic thanks to a tarot reader and a roving magician.
As attendees—from Camille Miceli, the artistic director of Pucci, to hotelier Alan Faena, artist Kennedy Yanko, performers Gunna and Saint Jhn, architect Suchi Reddy, artist Michael Kagan, as well as Diana Widmaier Picasso, Eva Hughes, Cindy Prado, Brooke Wise, Ally Shapiro, Sofia Resing, and many more—assemble, the outdoor event transforms into a dance party. Italian disco revivalist, the international DJ Disco Bambino, steers the festive spirit.
Pucci’s party in the Miami Beach Botanical Garden hints at a nearby unveiling from the storied fashion house. The next morning, Pucci reveals a swirling transformation of the entrance into Art Basel Miami Beach, dressing the sidewalks of the arrival area in Pucci prints. Unlike many other brands activating during the week, Pucci is an official partner of Art Basel, the immense, influential art fair anchoring it all. – DAVID GRAVER
