The chicest party of the summer?
On August 9th at Crow’s Nest in Montauk, the Surfrider Foundation is hosting their annual One Ocean Gala. This year MTK locals Liev Shreiber and his wife Taylor are being honored. “I was blown away by everything Surfrider is doing to protect and conserve our ocean and coastlines. I knew I wanted to be involved, Taylor Shreiber says. “I am on the board of my family’s foundation, The Ludwick Family Foundation – and, each year, we give grants to organizations that are making the world a better place. Surfrider is doing exactly that, and our foundation has been honored to play a small part.” Says Surfrider CEO Chad Nelson: “Although the threats to clean water and healthy beaches on Eastern Long Island are significant, we are making steady progress by raising awareness about water pollution, installing ocean-friendly gardens, and looking for solutions to chronic coastal erosion.”
Expect surf, style, society and movie stars on Lake Montauk all night. Past One Ocean guests include Naomi Watts, Jon Hamm, Julian Schnabel, Julianne Moore, Cynthia Rowley, Surf Lodge queen Jayma Cardosa, Shelby Meade and Ben Watts, to name a few. Surf’s up! – PETER DAVIS
