The nonprofit Project Zero has galvanized people like Kate Moss, Slash, Jack Black, Cara Delevingne, and Rita Ora to take action to save the ocean. Now Project Zero is making an even bigger splash. Project Zero’s Coral Collective: a groundbreaking, multi-year global initiative dedicated to saving coral reefs from extinction. Sienna Miller helped with the Coral Collective launch in Times Square, which supports the United Nations Global Fund for Coral Reefs, the International Coral Reef Initiative and the Coral Resilience Institute, The Coral Collective’s mission is to drive cultural and financial support toward protecting one of the planet’s most endangered ecosystems.

This summer in Cap-Ferrat, the Coral Collective launched “Thirty Six For Coral,” an exhibition and auction featuring 36 artists like Vik Muniz, Rocco Ritchie, RETNA, Marc Quinn, Jemima Kirke, Charlotte Colbert and Walton Ford. HRH Princess Eugenie, Ambassador for Project Zero/The Coral Collective, says: “Despite occupying less than 1% of the seabed, coral reefs support 25% of all life in the ocean, and one billion people around the world depend on coral reefs for food and jobs.” The Coral Collective boasts a strong following in New York. Think: models Georgia Fowler and Sailor Brinkley-Cook, musicians Bernard Fowler and Aku Orraca-Tetteh, power publicist Tyler Burrow, DJ’s Young Paris and Mei Kwok and artists Dustin Yellin, Brianna Lance, Caviar Coleman, and Ed Granger. “Being born and raised in a coastal beach town, and growing up going to Turks and Caicos, the ocean has always been a place where I feel connected, calm, and inspired,” says Brinkley Cook. “The ocean is a grounding source in my life, and to so many people’s lives around the world. No matter where you are from, the ocean touches something in all of us.”
