The stylish member’s club NeueHouse recently debuted The Cinema, their new 95-seat movie theater designed by David Rockwell. The luxuriously comfy theater boasts the latest, greatest digital screening tech, but feels like a 1960s theater in Rome with velvety moss green seats and small circular wood tables for cocktails and snacks (there is an illuminated bar just outside with an adjacent lounge). Jennifer Esposito showed her buzzed-about directorial debut Fresh Kills chez NeueHouse and Amy Schumer, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Sam Taylor-Johnson and Matthew Modine have all stopped by for screenings. “New Yorkers want and expect a combination of romance and history,” Rockwell says. “The cinema isn’t just for movies; it’s a space art where members can connect with one another.” – PETER DAVIS
