The New York City Ballet knows how to throw a birthday party. Last night, the company hosted its fall gala in honor of its 75th anniversary. Theater legends Patti LuPone, Vanessa Williams, and Joshua Henry joined the stage with NYCB dancers in a one-time-only performance, which featured excerpts from Balanchine’s Who Cares? and new costumes designed by Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera.
