Why should the Metropolitan Museum of Art have all the fashion fun? On Wednesday night, the Brooklyn Museum and Dior held a sparkling cocktail party to fête the opening of the new retrospective, Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams.
Guests — including Yara Shahidi, Lorde, and Anna Wintour — took a break from fashion week to get a first look at the exhibit (it officially opens Friday), while sipping cocktails and listening to music by DJ Kittens.
Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams traces the history of the house, from its eponymous founder to it’s current artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri. The exhibit features over 200 haute couture pieces — including the iconic “New Look” from 1947 — as well as a host of archival sketches, photographs, and more.
Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams opens September 10 at the Brooklyn Museum, and runs through February 20, 2022. Tickets are available online now.
