Another Hamptons social event is asking attendees to party in place — this time for a good cause.
The Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s annual summer party, which takes place August 1, has changed its theme from “Gala in the Garden” to “Gala in Your Garden” to accommodate social distancing. And organizers have found a creative way to recreate the benefit atmosphere at home.
Guests who purchase a table will instead receive a curated party box that can entertain up to 10 people with cocktails or dinner.
Local Hamptons retailers have chipped in to make the boxes special, including floral arrangement from Sag Harbor Florist, Kim Jon Designs, and Anchor & Bloom, as well as other goodies like gifts from Hamptons Handpoured Candles, Amagansett Salt Company, and Southampton Soap Company.
Those who want to throw a cocktail party will receive a wine selection by Wolffer Estate Vineyards, tequila from Montaukila, and hors d’oeuvres, cookies, and a Margarita mix by Janet O’Brien.
Meanwhile, guests who opt for a dinner “table” will receive delivery of a special menu from one of several partnering local restaurants across the Hamptons, including The Stone Creek Inn, 75 Main, Calissa, and Tutto Il Giorno.
Bringing everyone together, the host committee (which includes Donna Karan, Liev Schreiber, and Georgina Bloomberg, among others) will hold a virtual toast at 7pm in honor of hospital employees.
Tables start at $5,000. The party is raising funds for the Jenny & John Paulson emergency department, as well as the East Hampton Satellite Emergency Department and for the Healthcare Heroes Fund.
And for those who simply want to support a good cause, Stony Brook is offering $50 tickets to join the virtual toast. Donations can also be made online, here.
