Spring is only a few weeks away, but New Yorkers are still heading south to chase the sun and South Florida is teeming with new arrivals and openings in recent months, with Palm Beach specifically, hosting an influx of new restaurants and shops. Two local tastemakers, Beth Aschenbach and Danielle Norcross, highlight their favorite spots. They’re well-placed to do so having created the lifestyle blog Palm Beach Lately and the corresponding pastel-hued Instagram account. Below, Beth and Danielle share their go-to destinations to dine, shop, and unwind in the South Florida enclave.

What are your favorite places to eat or have drinks?

Our go-to spots include Sant Ambroeus, Buccan, Cucina’s, Swifty’s, and Honor Bar. We are also excited to try newcomers, such as Lola 41 and Almond. The Colony Hotel’s poolside restaurant CPB is great for brunch. We love to listen to live music and eat as we sit overlooking the pool.

Your go-to shopping?

We love shopping the unique boutiques at The Royal and along Worth Avenue and South County. Some of our favorites include Stoney Clover, LoveShackFancy, Vineyard Vines, Aerin, Serena & Lily, Amanda Lindroth, Rapunzel’s, and C. Orrico.

What are some of your most-loved under-the-radar spots?

The newish needlepointing shop, Lycette, is adorable and so Grandmillennial! Newer to the scene is Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop pop-up, located in the Royal Poinciana Plaza; it’s is open until April 12.

What hotels do you recommend to visitors?

The Colony is our favorite whimsical boutique hotel. We recently renovated one of their two bedroom villas from top to bottom in Serena & Lily’s furniture and decor. We love the new “Sisters Suite”. We also frequent The Breakers’ beach, pool, and restaurants and they also have great shops here.

Cultural institutions?

The Four Arts is our go-to for seasonal activities with the kids. There are many art galleries on the island, as historic places like the Flagler Museum.
