All the Best Looks From Save Venice's Byzantine Ball

Gilded and masked (in non-Covid context), the who’s who of the art, fashion, and philanthropy worlds descended on The Plaza Hotel for Save Venice’s Un Ballo in Maschera. While an unfortunate few chose not follow Avenue‘s sage fashion advice of staying on theme, there was no shortage of showstopping, Byzantine-inspired looks. 

This year’s Masquerade ball, sponsored by Bulgari and Oscar De La Renta, raised a record $1.2 million to preserve the artistic heritage of Venice. With a bounty of gold sequins to rival Elton John’s tour wardrobe, and enough Bulgari Serpenti necklaces to make Medusa blush, the spring’s most heavily anticipated gala (second only to The Met Gala) was also its most unabashedly glamorous.
